Our homestay experience by Erin

When my home stay from Kuroshio-cho was here we went to Raglan and to Bridal Veil Falls. Tomoka and Nasuki liked looking at and playing with our kitten called Abby.  We ate lunch at Orca Cafe and when we got home we had Chinese food.  It made me think about what I will feel like when I got to Japan and have to go to a homestay. Kuroshio-cho visit - August 2015

When the Kuroshio-cho students come to our school, they were amazing, funny and playful. We taught them to make poi and how to play multi sport.  We had a pot  luck dinner with them which was cool.  They kept going on about how delicious the foods were and I feel thankful ( even though I didn't make it).

I hope to see them again in 4 weeks and I am looking forward to meeting my home stay family when I get to Japan.

Singing and poi 4 plait!

On Thursday lunch times at school we have been practising our Maori songs and our poi 4 plait.
Our songs are Kia tau te rangimarie, Ko Maria and He Honore. They are all great songs but secretly ... the girls are better than the boys.

We also have just started learning how to 4 plait for making poi's for gifts to give to the Japanese people we will be staying with. It is quite difficult but is really fun and they look very cool when they are done right.
